September 2019, the world health organization (WHO) had its first update from scientists citing the mild virus that may create a global outbreak, but it was not taken seriously.
Few months later, a pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan, China was the first reported case to the WHO Country Office in China on 31 December. Despite WHO efforts to analyse data, provide advice, coordinate with partners, help countries prepare, increase supplies and manage expert networks, but it is already too late as the virus already widespread in most parts of the world which leads WHO to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020.
Dr. Li Wenliang, a chinese doctor who took the case of the patients in Wuhan have identified the veracity of the virus.
Dr. Wenliang alerted other chinese doctor about the virus, however, China government ordered a possible arrest should he continue to spread information as it creates chaos to the public and may face the highest sanction of law. Weeks after his alleged “rumour-mongering” Dr. Wenliang died after contracting the virus while treating patients in Wuhan.
Countries are always prepared for battle, invested in bombs and other weapon of mass destruction, but failed to give importance to bio chemicals and millions of viruses from animals that could lead to extreme fatality rate. Is this Coronavirus a man-made demolition of mankind and show of power? It’s complex to win a battle to an invisible enemy, much if that enemy was called by mother nature for her utmost healing.
